Our Veterinarians
Dr Carder
Veterinarian, MS
Carder graduated from The University of Findlay with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and The Ohio State University with a Master’s Degree in Nutrition and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He has a horse named “Steele”, two dogs named “Attakah” and “Rusty”, and a cat named “Squeaky”. His hobbies include running professional fireworks shows as a licensed pyrotechnician, the outdoors, and being on the water. At work, he enjoys the surgical, nutritional, and clinical aspects of veterinary medicine. He also enjoys the daily interactions with clients and patients.
Dr Nathan
Veterinarian
Dr. Nathan attended Ross University and practiced veterinary medicine for 17 years. Alongside his wife, Dr. Melissa Metz, he is a founding owner of Metz Petz, having played a foundational role in building the clinic and shaping its commitment to compassionate, high-quality care. While Drs. Nathan and Melissa are no longer practicing at the Ada location, their values, standards, and dedication to client trust continue to guide the team today. In his free time, Dr. Nathan enjoys spending time with his children and wife in the great outdoors.
Dr Melissa
Veterinarian
Dr. Melissa Metz has worked in veterinary medicine for 17 years and attended Clemson University and Ross Veterinary School. Alongside her husband, Dr. Nathan Metz, she is a founding owner of Metz Petz and was instrumental in establishing the clinic’s philosophy of compassionate, relationship-driven care. While Drs. Nathan and Melissa are no longer practicing at the Ada location, their commitment to respect, compassion, and whole-pet wellness continues to shape the care provided today. In her free time, Dr. Melissa enjoys spending quality time with her family, gardening, bicycling, playing pickleball, reading, and enjoying the outdoors.

Cody
Practice Manager
Cody has been practicing management in the veterinary field for 14 years. He attended Allen East, OSU Lima, and studied Health and Rehab Sciences with a focus on Management. Cody prides himself on establishing trusting relationships with clients and patients throughout all their pets’ life stages. In his free time, he enjoys all things Disney, family activities, church activities, Pokémon, and candle making.
Audrey
RVT
Audrey attended Miami Jacobs Career College in Troy, OH, and has been practicing in veterinary medicine for the last 5 years. She prides herself on giving surgical and hospitalized patients the best way she can. In her free time, she enjoys playing video games and making homemade bar soap.
Cory
Lead Veterinary Assistant
Cory graduated from the University of Finlay in 2023. She takes great pride in treating every pet as if they were her own and enjoys educating pet owners. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, traveling, and spending time with her friends and pets.
Makinley
Veterinary Assistant
Makinley brings 4 years of experience in veterinary medicine and is currently studying Zoology at OSU Lima. She prides herself on creating a safe, welcoming environment for both pets and their people — making sure every client feels seen, heard, and cared for without judgment. Outside of work, you’ll find her spending time with her cat Peaches and her two chinchillas, diving into a good book, visiting family, or heading off on spontaneous side quests with friends.
Kyleigh
Veterinary Assistant
Kyleigh has been working in the veterinary field for 3 years and is currently enrolled in school to become a licensed technician. She prides herself on being patient and understanding, while also furthering her education and improving patient care.
In her free time, she likes to read, play video games, make art, and hang out with her family and pets.
Jessica
Lead Customer Service Representative
Jessica has been in the veterinary field for 10 years and takes pride in providing exceptional customer service. Outside of work, she enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering with local sports teams.
